What is BhadaKati?

BhadaKati is a public platform dedicated to making bus fare information in Nepal accessible to everyone.

Anyone can visit the platform and search for bus fares across intercity and local routes. Our goal is simple: make fare information easy to find, transparent, and available to every passenger.

We believe access to public information should not depend on who you know, where you're traveling, or how familiar you are with a route.

Our Story

For years, public bus fares in Nepal were anything but public.

Many passengers paid more than the government-approved fare simply because they did not know what the correct fare was. Finding reliable fare information was difficult, and very little was available online.

Although buses are required to display fare lists, many either failed to do so or displayed them where passengers could not easily see or read them.

Students, tourists, people visiting new places, and anyone unfamiliar with a route were often left with no choice but to trust whatever fare they were asked to pay.

We didn't think that was fair.

Why BhadaKati Exists

Access to fare information is a passenger's right.

When that information is hidden or difficult to find, passengers cannot make informed decisions about their own journeys.

What began as a discussion about unfair fares and the lack of publicly available information grew into a mission to ensure every passenger can travel with confidence, knowing exactly what they should pay.

Today, BhadaKati exists to make bus fare information transparent, accessible, and freely available to everyone.
